Golden Retriever
Golden Retrievers are known for their friendly smile and calm demeanor. They adapt wonderfully and are well-suited as guide dogs for the blind, in search and rescue teams, and as therapy dogs. Their golden coat, which can range from light gold to deep honey gold, is their trademark.
Flat-Coated Retriever
The Flat-Coated Retriever often remains playful well into old age and is known for its youthful behavior. This breed is extremely friendly and optimistic, with a dense, glossy black or liver-colored coat that sets them apart from other retrievers. They love water activities and are excellent swimmers.
Curly-Coated Retriever
The Curly-Coated Retriever, recognizable by its unique curly coat, is one of the oldest retriever breeds. These dogs are brave, independent, and somewhat more reserved than their retriever relatives. They are excellent for hunting and other outdoor activities.
Chesapeake Bay Retriever
The Chesapeake Bay Retriever, often simply called "Chessie," loves water more than anything and is an exceptional swimmer. With its dense, oily coat that protects against cold water, Chessies are loyal and protective family dogs, known for their strength and endurance.
Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, the smallest of the retrievers, is known for luring ducks with its playful antics along the shore. Its medium-length, water-repellent coat and boundless energy make it the perfect companion for active families.
