When it comes to caring for a beloved four-legged friend, the well-being of everyone involved is paramount. In a private setting, it often happens that a dog lover has to cancel at short notice or feels uncomfortable discussing topics like payment. What pet parents truly want is to find a reliable caregiver who loves and cares for their pet just as much as they do, while exuding a certain level of professionalism.
We make it easy for pet parents to find a loving sitter near them. After entering their location, they gain access to sitter profiles that include all essential information such as experience, photos, and special skills.
How Can You Make Yourself Visible with a Sitter Profile?
If you want to share your love for pets and earn some extra income, you are in the right place. After signing up for free, you will be guided step-by-step through creating your profile. Basic information such as your name and location will be requested, along with other important details, e.g., whether you own pets yourself and what your caregiving preferences are. For example, if you only want to care for small dogs, no problem! You set your own criteria.
You also have full flexibility when it comes to pricing and availability. You determine when your calendar is open for sitting requests and set the prices you deem appropriate. These prices serve as a starting point for pet parents to understand the cost of care with you. If an increased effort is required, you can adjust the price for a specific booking request. After verifying your information, we review your profile and approve it if everything is in order. If something is unclear, we will contact you. This process usually takes about 7 days.
Are There Any Costs for You?
Signing up with Petbnb is completely free, and there are no hidden costs. However, if a booking occurs, we retain a service fee for the mediation as well as for additional services such as customer support and a veterinary cost guarantee. This service fee is 19% of the booking amount at the start of your sitting activity with us. For example, if you charge €20 per day of care, your payout after deducting the service fee would be €16.20.
Is It Worth It?
Platforms like Petbnb can only guarantee comprehensive service and assistance in emergency situations if they charge a service fee. As the only platform for pet services, we offer a dynamic service fee: If you stand out as a popular sitter and regularly ensure satisfied pet parents, we lower your service fee.
Do You Have to Accept Every Booking as a Sitter?
No. At Petbnb, the quality of bookings matters more than the quantity. We understand that caring for a pet requires a high level of trust, which is why we support pet parents and sitters in getting to know each other before booking – we call this “Meet & Greet.” Only if the chemistry is right do we recommend pet parents confirm the booking. Payment is only due once both parties are certain. The money is held in an escrow account and paid out to the sitter on the last day of the booking.
